NIMA Scarves

The three Fates –Moirai- were a group of weaving goddesses, processing the thread –NIMA– of life. Clotho, the spinner, represents birth and symbolizes the present. Lachesis, the allotter, measures its allotted length, she decides the luck and symbolizes the past. Atropos, the unturning, cuts it when the time comes and symbolizes the future.

Elaborate NIMA that forms patterns. Universal patterns with limitless influences. Influences of culture from the depths of history to the relatively recent past. «Μοίρα» – ‘Moira’ = Fate, from the verb «μοιράζω» – ‘moirazo’ = share or split, the «μερίδιο» – ‘meridio’ = part, the segment that belongs to the whole.

Printed on NIMA scarves, are textures of traditional Greek costumes of post Byzantium era. Textures of NIMA embroidered on the clothes of another era, where they were made to last forever.

Φουλάρια ΝΗΜΑ

Οι τρεις Mοίρες που πλέκουν το ΝΗΜΑ της ζωής… Η Κλωθώ, αυτή που «κλωθεί», γνέθει το νήμα και συμβολίζει το παρόν. Η Λάχεσις, μετράει το μήκος του, καθορίζοντας τι θα λάχει και συμβολίζει το παρελθόν. Η Άτροπος που το κόβει όταν έρθει η ώρα και συμβολίζει το μέλλον.

ΝΗΜΑ λεπτοδουλεμένο που σχηματίζει μοτίβα. Οικουμενικά μοτίβα με επιρροές χωρίς όρια. Επιρροές πολιτισμού από τα βάθη της ιστορίας μέχρι το σχετικά κοντινό παρελθόν. «Μοίρα», από το ρήμα «μοιράζω», το «μερίδιο», το κομμάτι που αντιστοιχεί στο σύνολο.

Τυπωμένες πάνω στα φουλάρια «ΝΗΜΑ», είναι υφές από παραδοσιακά Ελληνικά κουστούμια μεταβυζαντινής περιόδου. Υφές από ΝΗΜΑ κεντημένο πάνω σε ρούχα μίας άλλης εποχής, που φτιάχνονταν για να κρατούν για πάντα.
